Our Continued Commitment During the COVID-19 Pandemic
We hope you and your loved ones are remaining healthy and safe. We continue to pay close attention to COVID-19 developments, and take very seriously the critical role we play in keeping you and the communities we serve connected during these unprecedented times. We also continue to do our part to keep our customers and employees safe. We will share our latest updates on this page.
Working to keep you and our employees safe
Our lobbies are closed.
Due to the size and layout of our lobbies, we do not believe we can safely meet the requirements of the current phase. We continue to offer contactless pay options through online and mail-in payments, and porch pickup and drop-offs when needed.
Helping our local students and school districts with Students Connect
We have created a partnership with Tacoma Public Schools and Graduate Tacoma to offer complimentary high-speed Internet access to connect students while they’re out of the classroom so they can learn at home.
Local School Districts (Tacoma Public Schools, Eatonville School District, and Clover Park School District) identify students who may be eligible/are recommended to participate. Their addresses are cross-matched with Rainier Connect’s service area. Once qualified, your school or Graduate Tacoma will reach out to inform the families about the program and describe next steps to get connected. The family can then reach out to Rainier Connect to complete the sign up and installation of services. More information about the program can be found by clicking on this link: https://www.thenewstribune.com/news/local/article242513171.html
Assistance if you have been impacted by COVID-19
If you reside in Tacoma or a neighboring area, you may qualify for our Lifeline Internet Program, click here to determine if you qualify.
Our Pledge-Keeping you Connected
We are aware of how difficult the impacts of COVID-19 have been on the economy and our customers. We remain committed to keeping customers connected to the information and resources they are relying on during this pandemic. Rainier Connect has halted late fees and the standard non-pay disconnect process and continues to keep our customers connected to the essential services we provide during the COVID-19 pandemic emergency. If you are experiencing hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic we are available to discuss payment arrangements.
As part of our commitment, Rainier Connect volunteered to participate in the Federal Communication Commissions request for a Pledge to our customers. Governor Inslee also issued a proclamation on the issue of essential services as well. The proclamation does not relieve customers from the obligation to pay for utility services. Once we have a better view of the Washington State plans, Rainier Connect will work with customers to discuss repayment options.
