Warehouse Specialist

- Tacoma, WA

Position Summary:

The primary responsibilities of this position will be staging daily materials for jobs (Fiber optic, Coax, CPE materials and supplies), inventory control, receiving of shipments, and maintaining a clean safe warehouse. This position will work primarily with the Outside Plant Technicians to make sure they have what they need to complete jobs. Also work with our Accounting team to keep accurate inventory of all materials. Must be self-driven, have good time management skills and able to work independently as well as in a team to complete tasks. Will drive between our locations delivering equipment and supplies as needed. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Understand upcoming job needs and stage next day loads for morning load times.
  • Practice safe warehouse procedures, identify potential hazards, and recommend improvements to standard procedures.
  • Identify and improve processes to increase efficiency and minimize mistakes.
  • Quote, Order & Receive supplies from vendors to maintain adequate inventory of materials to facilitate job orders.
  • Maintain inventory integrity within our system by making sure all inventory transactions are accounted for in the database.
  • Organize warehouse and keep free of clutter.
  • Conduct complete inventories per schedule.
  • Other duties as needed.

      Qualifications:

  • Ability to learn and understand company’s products and programs.
  • Must be able to communicate, collaborate and cooperate with vendors, peers and managers as necessary to meet company objectives.

Premise Installation Technician

- Tacoma, WA

Position Summary

The primary responsibility of this position is providing an installation and trouble resolution experience that must be second to none!  Our team installs residential and commercial data, voice & Cable TV/Stream TV services. Installing & supporting these services requires a solid understanding of general networking and ability to trouble shoot. This position allows you the opportunity to work with customers at different levels of technical comfort, a variety of end user devices and network designs which makes our job always exciting because every customer and ever trouble is different than the last.  If you are looking for a challenging opportunity and to be somebody’s technical super hero every day this is the job for you!

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages daily schedule to timely install and repair customer services on the daily schedule.
  • Follows internal processes to properly document and record work done at customer location.
  • Manages truck inventory properly assigning devices according to internal processes.  
  • Collaborates with other departments for complex troubles and installations.  
  • Educates customers on products and services that best match their technical needs.
  • Must enjoy working in a fast paced, high-volume environment with the ability to quickly adapt to change. You won’t get bored here!

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of most common versions of PC and MAC Operating Systems.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.

Education

Experience

Advanced Technical Support

- Tacoma or Eatonville

Position Summary

The primary responsibility of this position is providing our customers with Advanced Technical Support that must be second to none!  Our team handles escalated tickets from our Tier 1 team for voice, internet and cable TV related problems primarily over the phone and occasionally in person in our lobby or at the customer’s site.  While this is not a Tier 1 helpdesk, it is an entry level position and requires somebody with a big appetite to learn.  In addition to supporting our customers by phone and in the office this person will also have the opportunity to do some onsite work.  Site work involves installation of voice and data modems for both residential and commercial customers.  This position allows you the opportunity to work with customers at different levels of technical comfort, a variety of end user devices and network designs which makes our job always exciting because every customer and ever trouble is different than the last.  If you are looking for a challenging opportunity and to be somebody’s technical super hero every day this is the job for you!

Systems Administrator

As a Systems Administrator at Rainier Connect, you will be part of a team responsible for high availability server infrastructure, DHCP, Radius, DNS services, and internal systems.  This team designs, implements, monitors, and maintains all systems used for both employees and customers.

Network Technician

As a Network Technician at Rainier Connect, you will be part of the network team responsible for DWDM transport systems, fiber to the premise equipment, DOCSIS 3.0/3.1 equipment, and Ethernet networks. CATV Maintenance Technician

- Tacoma, WA

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identify faults within the subscriber drop, feeder/distribution and trunk systems to ensure proper signal level, picture quality.
  • Correct these faults by adjusting, repairing or replacing passive or active components, including power supplies and power inserters.
  • Perform signal egress/ingress detection; sweep alignment; installations; troubleshooting; test point measurements; system balance and preliminary proofs.
  • Perform emergency restoration of signal outages in the feeder/distribution and trunk systems.
  • Complete work assignments generated through technician follow-up requests, including unresolved technician work orders.
  • Activate new plant and perform preliminary proof.

Skills Required:

  • 3 years CATV experience or related work history in the cable tv industry.
  • Understanding of and ability to use: signal level meter, volt-ohm meter, cable locator egress monitoring devices, AC clamp meter television test set, spectrum analyzer basic time domain reflectometer, system maps sweep gear.
  • Apply technical expertise to a variety of situations, evaluate problems and implement the best solution.
  • Work independently, within broad guidelines of procedures and goals.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.

Special Requirements:

  • Confidence working in/on buckets, ladders and utility poles at heights of up to 36 feet.
  • Lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Work outdoors in all types of weather.
  • Able to work a variety of schedules in order to provide needed coverage, for both normal and on-call duty.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record.
  • Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned or as become evident.
